Assembly

New Date - 2nd July

For all those working parents out there, I just wanted to let you know that Room 11 will be running the School Assembly on Thursday 2nd July at 12.30. We hope to see some of our fabulous parents there. Mrs Kenyon

Blind Foundation

Today, Devon from the Blind Foundation came in to visit. She talked to us about blindness and the resources available to the visually impaired. Devon showed us a talking clock, let us read Braille and typed our names in Braille for us.
Did you know the Blind Foundation has 12,000 members in New Zealand BUT there are only 400 working Guide Dogs in NZ?

Congratulations Libby

Congratulations to Libby for her excellent results in the weekends singing competition. Check out the You Tube video of her singing "A Dream is a Wish".

Massey Univeristy Guest Speakers

Last week the Senior Skyscrapers had Dr. Pete Hutton and Dr. Sarah Pain come to school to talk to us about some aspects of Science.

We had so much fun (especially making a mess with the iodene... ah boys!).

Take a look at our photos.

Room 11

In Room 11 this term we are integrating most of our work with our Connected Curriculum topic of "Successful Science Investigators".

Today we looked at the Water Cycle. Wow!!! Evaporation, condensation, percepitation..... All these new big words we learnt. We're going to try and run this experiment again at home to see if we can teach Mum and Dad a thing or two and see if we can find a different way of investigating the topic of Water Cycle.

I wonder how everyone will go ......................... WATCH THIS SPACE!
