Buddy Class 2011

This year we are fortunate enough to have LC16 as our Buddy Class. When we went over today, India and Jenny read us a book and then we read and played games with our buddies. We can't wait for our next visit.

This morning I saw....... By LC11

LC11 wrote this poem. Every person in the class, even Mrs Kenyon, contributed one line. Then we sorted our lines into categories.

This morning I saw Aiman

Cam

Mrs Kenyon

A birthday boy

Hayley watching TV

My brother snoring

My brother yawning

People walking to school.

This morning I saw fog.

This morning I saw pictures of the tsunami in Japan.

I saw really thick fog

This morning I saw leaves rattling on a tree.

Kids playing soccer

People going for a morning run

People playing soccer on the court

This morning I saw cars

A van

This morning I saw fog

This morning I saw a dead possum

My pet Corgie

My dog barking

My cats fighting

My cat playing with my next door neighbours dog.

This morning I saw the gleaming water in the shower

The shower running.

This morning I saw a big juicy plum.

This morning I saw fog.

Writing with adjectives

WALT: recognise adjectives in our reading and use them in our writing.
Have a look at the fabulous description Lauren wrote about Mrs Kenyon. Look at all the adjective she used.

Mrs Kenyon is a fun, energetic teacher. With big, sparkling blue eyes and a tall, slim body. She has shining chocolate brown hair with highlights of yellow. Her voice is confident and cheerful. She has a beautiful silver locket around her long neck. Her jet black shoes gleam when you look at them. Her teeth are pure white.

Christchurch Earthquake

Just a reminder that we are having a Black and Red day this Friday 4th March to raise funds for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. We have two families from Christchurch at Riverdale School while things down South settle down for them and their families.
Let's give generously.
